*6 To Mute

Recently our conference calls with Eagle Teleconferencing have been getting out of hand with the noise level. We started telling the participants in the conference calls to press *6 on their phone to mute their line. This has worked out great for our conference calls. This cuts out a lot of noise on the conference calls. Thanks Eagle Teleconferencing for a great feature!

How does *6 work on conference calls? Is there anything special i have to do?

*6 is an automatic feature on conference calls. Once the participants get into the conference calls you can tell them to press *6 on their phones and this will mute thier line on the conference calls. To unmute their line they would press *6 again to unmute their line.

Sounds like a great feature for conference calls.

Can a moderator press *6 to mute their line on conference calls?

Moderators cannot mute their lines on conference calls. Only the caller/conferees calling into the conference calls have that option to mute their line.

Wow that is correct. I guess someone else using *6 on conference calls too!

Moderators have the feature of hitting *5 while in the conference calls which puts the conference call in lecture mode.

Our company uses this feature for conference calls also. It is great too especially when the caller/conferees won't mute their lines in the conference calls. It mutes out the whole conference call except for the moderators. Then they can talk without any interuptions on the conference calls.

I will have to try *5 also in our conference calls. Thanks!

Do you have to have Eagle Teleconferencing add this to your conference calls?

This is also an automatic feature and can be used by moderators on the conference calls. Once the moderator gets into the conference calls they can press *5 at any time to put the call in lecture mode and then to take it out they would press *5 again.

You can also mute out all noise in a conference call by dialing in on a moderator pin number & pressing *5. If you want to open it up for discussion, just do *5 again & talk away! Another great feature at Eagle teleconferencing!
